Ryan Babineau and Larry  Morgan are the founders of RL Liquidators LLC.  They met in 2004 while working together at Target.  Larry was the Store Team Lead (manager) and Ryan was the assistant, recently being hired away from Arco to become a Store Team Lead.  They worked together for two years before Ryan left Target to start the Northern California offices of Tradesman International.  Less than a year after Ryan left, Larry also left to become a manager for Carmax.

During the economic turmoil in 2008, Ryan was laid off.  Early in 2009 the continued economic woes resulted in Larry being laid off also.  It was then that the two met again for the first time in several years.  Over lunch, they both talked about what eachother was doing and both decided neither was interested in doing what the other was doing and so parted ways as friends.  Ryan had been buying delinquent storage units and then selling the contents and that idea stuck with Larry.  A few weeks later, unknown to Ryan, Larry started doing the same thing.

It wasn't long before Ryan and Larry were traveling together to storage auctions to save gas.  At one point, as they were driving from one storage auction to another, they noticed a public auction of commercial retail and restaurant items.  Intrigued, they attended the auction and were first introducted to the world of professional liquidations.  Both realized that day that they had found the industry they wanted to be a part of.

Ryan and Larry started attending more commercial auctions, buying and selling the items there.  Eventually, Ryan and Larry were sought out by people who had similar items and were asked to liquidate the items for them and RL Liquidators was born.

Owning an auction had long been part of the overall plan and in 2011, that plan finally became a reality with the opening of RL Online Auctions.

Both RL Liquidators LLC. and RL Online Auctions LLC. continue to enjoy fantastic growth.  This story has only just begun.  Over the coming months and years, continue to watch as RL Liquidators LLC. grows into the nations premier liquidation company.

Ryan Babineau has an MBA from UC Davis.  He lives in Elk Grove, California with his wife and two children.

Larry Morgan has a B.S. degree with two additional years of post graduate work in Sports Medicine from BYU.  He also lives in Elk Grove, California with his wife and two children.
